The Terrible Impact Of Ink Cartridges In The Landfills.

by Robert G. Smith

Approximately 13 ink and toner cartridges are disposed of in the United States every second. That's over 780 units a minute or 46,800 an hour. At that rate by the end of the year, there will have been over 400,000,000 printer cartridges added to the landfills across this great land.
They take up to 1000 years to completely degrade. Imagine 400,000,000 pieces of plastic that we can remove from the land fill each year. The printer ink industry has provided a way to avoid this terrible waste. Some of the online ink provider sites have recycling programs set up. Also there are ink cartridge drop off sites. Many charitable organizations, churches, schools, and other groups provide them. This includes copier and fax cartridges also.
It takes about half the amount of energy needed to re-manufacture printer ink cartridges opposed to manufacturing new ones. It goes without saying the best way to cut your printing cost is to purchase re-manufactured/refilled ink cartridges, or refilling Kits.
I went and said it anyway didn't I? Oh well.
Depending on your printer and how new it is,there are Internet organizations that accept certain used cartridges in exchange for up to $4.00 per cartridge. Most sites offer prepaid shipping or pickup of used cartridges.
You can make recycling your printer ink cartridges into an event. Recycling used cartridges is a great way for schools, church groups, charities, high school sports teams, and other nonprofit organizations to raise funds. It can also be a significant cost savings for businesses.
Better still, the do it yourself refill kits. Once you purchase a refill kit for your printer cartridges, you have the tools and the instructions on how to refill your cartridges. Then you can purchase bulk ink and really cut your cost of printing.
I had a black HP 6300 cartridge that I refilled when it was approximately half empty 22 times. Now I refill all my ink and toner cartridges for both printers on a regular schedule, whether they need it or not. The secret being, refill it when it is around half full, or half empty (depending on your personality).
Whatever your choice, your participation is needed desperately. Our landfills are being polluted with materials that seemed to take forever to degrade into who knows what problems the residue will cause in the years to come. Recycling gives us today, the option of negating to some extent, those problems.
There are many on-line retailers who provide high quality printer ink in refilled cartridges. Used original manufactured cartridges are recycled, refurbished and refilled with the same quality ink provided by OEM cartridges. Using re-manufactured cartridges can save the consumer up to 85% of the cost OEM printer ink cartridges. It is well worth giving them a try, you will definitely not be disappointed.
One on-line site affiliated with a top of the line printer ink supplier donates one hundred percent of its net commissions to charity. It gives the consumer high quality printer ink supplies, excellent service, free shipping on minimum orders, and the opportunity to help many families and our nations war heroes in need, while obtaining their necessary supplies with no impact on their bottom line.
This site was launched to generate funds to help families and veterans caught in the economic squeeze they find themselves, in today’s trial of our country.
Businesses and individuals alike can obtain their necessary printer supplies on this site, and the commissions on the sale helps those in need, with no impact on your finances. All of our net sales commissions are donated to charity.
This is an endeavor of a retired businessman wishing to pay it back for the many blessings in his life.

My new gig

                                                               by Robert G. Smith

As the title of my blog indicates I needed something to fill my retirement days. My partner in life for these past 56 years, is very near the bottom of that hill we all must climb and slide down the other side in life, and needs constant care. So that pretty much makes me a shut in for ????? I  still being physically fit  expect to be around for a few more years.(if  a truck doesn't run over me or maybe lightning may strike for that proverbial third time).
A few years back when the laptops first came out my daughter bestowed on me her old desk top. One thing led to another and I found that I rather liked smacking a keyboard around. I've written and self published four novels www.my-books-4-u.com and administer two other websites.
My artworksbyrobertgsmith.com  site is basicly a display site for my artwork, but the ink-4-printers.com  site is my focus. It is an on-line printer ink supply site, of which there are many, but it is unique in that it is the only site that donates 100 percent of sales commissions to charity, mainly families and veterans in need.  I am not in need of personal funds, this is a way for me to pay it back for the blessings in my life. Any printer owner can save a bundle on their printer ink supplies and help our war hero's while doing so.
